- প্রশাসক
- সমস্ত সম্পাদকদের মতো প্রশাসকরাও নিখুঁত মানুষ নয়৷ তবে সাধারণভাবে, তারা সম্প্রদায়ের মধ্যে রোল মডেল হিসাবে কাজ করবে বলে আশা করা যাচ্ছে৷ সেই সাথে সম্পাদক এবং বিষয়বস্তুতে উভয় ক্ষেত্রে - দক্ষতা, ন্যায়বিচার এবং সাধারণ আচরণ প্রত্যাশিত। প্রশাসক হয়ে কাজ করার সময়, তারা ন্যায্য ও আদর্শ বিচার পালন করবে, সেই সাথে ব্যাখ্যা প্রদান করবে এবং প্রয়োজনীয় ক্ষেত্রে যোগাযোগ করবে বলেও আশা করা যায়।
- বট
- বট হল প্রোগ্রাম যা উইকির পাতাগুলোকে স্বয়ংক্রিয়ভাবে কোনরূপ ক্ষতি না করেই আপডেট করে। কিন্তু বট পরিচালনাকারীদের সর্তক থাকতে হয় যাতে বটগুলো উইকিতে ধংস্বাত্মক কার্য না করতে পারে বা রিসোর্চের অপব্যবহার করতে না পারে।
- ভদ্রতা
- উইকিপিডিয়া কোন একক ব্যক্তি, গোষ্ঠির নয় বরং যে কোন মানুষের যারা একে উন্নয়ন ও এতে অবদান রাখতে আগ্রহী। তবে অভদ্র আচরণ, অশালীন আচার, কঠিন মনোভাব পোষনকারী অন্যান্য ব্যক্তির জন্য ক্ষতিকর তথা পুরো উইকিপিডিয়ার জন্য অনুপযুক্ত যা উইকিপিডিয়ার কার্যক্রম বিরোধী। যারাই এমন অভদ্র, অশালীন আচরণ দেখাবেন বা আপনার প্রতি করবেন তাদের অনুৎসাহিত করুন। আপনিও সর্তক থাকুন যাতে অন্য কেউ আপনার দ্বারা অপমানিত না হয়। যে কোন সহযোগীতার জন্য প্রশাসক, মডারেটররা মধ্যস্থতাকারী হিসেবে ভূমিকা রাখতে আগ্রহী, তাদের সাথে যোগাযোগ করুন।
- ঐকমত্য
- বেশিরভাগ সম্পাদনার সঠিকতা নিরূপনে সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠ সম্পাদকের ঐক্যমতই গ্রহণযোগ্য হবে।
- সংঘাত নিরসন
- কোন নিবন্ধে কোন বিষয়ে মতের অমিল থাকতে পারে। সরাসরি আক্রমণ না করে, লেখা মুছে না দিয়ে প্রথমে আলাপ পাতায় ঐ ব্যবহারকারী/ব্যক্তির সাথে কথা বলুন। যদি সেটি ব্যর্থ হয় তবে আরো উচ্চতর সহায়তার জন্য মডারেটরদের দৃষ্টি আর্কষন করুন।
- সম্পাদনা নীতিমালা
- উইকিপিডিয়ার মূল উদ্দেশ্যই হল সঠিক তথ্য লিপিবদ্ধ করা, তথ্যবহুল করে তোলা। আপনি যেখানেই পারেন, যে পাতাগুলি পারেন উন্নত করুন, তাতে তথ্য যোগ করুন। সেটি এক দুই লাইন হতে পারে বা ভুল সংশোধন হতে পারে বা তথ্যসূত্র যোগ হতে পারে বা একটি অনুচ্ছেদ হতে পারে এবং সেগুলি অসম্পূর্ণ রেখে দেবার বিষয়ে কখনো ভাববেন না। বড় ধরনের পরিবর্তনের ক্ষেত্রে ব্যাখ্যা প্রদান করার জন্য পরামর্শ প্রদান করা হচ্ছে।
- সম্পাদনা যুদ্ধ
- কেউ আপনার করা সম্পাদনাকে যদি অগ্রহণযোগ্য হিসেবে চিহ্নিত করে আলাপ পাতায় তার সাথে সে বিষয়ে আলোচনা করুন বা অন্য ব্যবহারকারীদের আমন্ত্রন জানান dispute resolution। সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠ মতামতের ভিত্তিতে এগিয়ে যান। কেউই ভুলের উর্দ্ধে নয়। কোন পাতাকে পুরোপুরি বা আংশিকভাবে ২৪ ঘন্টায় ৩ বারের বেশি পূর্বাবস্থায় ফিরিয়ে নেবেন না (অন্যথায় কোন প্রশাসক হয়ত আপনার একাউন্ট ব্লক করে দিতে পারে ).
- কোন হয়রানি নয়
- অন্য ব্যবহারকারীদের কাছে নিজেকে হুমকি হিসেবে প্রদর্শন করবেন না, কোন ভাল বিশ্বাসযোগ্য নিবন্ধকে ভুল তথ্যে সন্নিবেশ করবেন না। কাউকে অযথা বিরক্ত করবেন না। কারো প্রতি হিংসাত্মক আক্রমন, হুমকি প্রদান বা কারো ব্যক্তিগত তথ্য এখানে প্রকাশ করবেন না।
- আইপি বাধাদান নিস্কৃতি
- কোন ভাল সম্পাদকের সম্পাদনা কোন অযোক্তিক, অপ্রাসঙ্গিক কারণবশত ব্লক বা বন্ধ করা হলে (আইপি) অনুরোধের মাধ্যমে পর্যালোচনাপূর্বক তা ফেরত পাওয়া যাবে। সবচেয়ে ভাল হয় আপনি একটি একাউন্ট তৈরী করে নিলে।
- কোনো আইনি হুমকি নয়
- আইনি হুমকির চেয়ে আলোচনার মাধ্যমে সংঘাত, ভুলবোঝাবুঝি নিরসন সহজ এবং সকলের পক্ষেই সেটা উপকারী। কপিরাইট, সুনামহানিকারক অভিযোগগুলোর ব্যপারে প্রশাসকের দ্রুত সাড়া দেন। আপনি এ ধরনের কোন হুমকি পেলে বা বাধাদান পেলে প্রশাসকের সাথে যোগাযোগ করুন এবং বিষয়টি নিষ্পত্তি না হওয়া পর্যন্ত সম্পাদনা হতে বিরত থাকুন।
- কোনো প্রকার ব্যক্তিগত আক্রমণ নয়
- উইকিপিডিয়ার কোন জায়গায় কাউকে ব্যক্তিগত আক্রমন করতে একেবারেই অনুৎসাহিত করা হয়। কোন তথ্য সঠিক না হলে সেটির ব্যপারে আলাপ করুন কিন্তু সম্পাদক/ব্যবহারকারীকে আক্রমন হতে বিরত থাকুন। কেউই এরূপ আচরণ পছন্দ করে না। ব্যক্তিগত আক্রমন সম্পাদক/ব্যবহারকারীদের নিরুৎসাহিত করে এবং ভবিষ্যতে অবদান রাখার ক্ষেত্রে মনোবল নিষ্ক্রিয় করে।
- নিবন্ধ মালিকানা
- উইকিপিডিয়ার কোন নিবন্ধই একক কোন সম্পত্তি নয়। আপনি যদি কোন নিবন্ধ তৈরী করেন বা সম্পাদনা করেন জেনে রাখুন যে অন্য ব্যবহারকারীরা তা যথাযথ কারণ মোতাবেক সম্পাদনা করবেন এবং তা কোন ভাবেই আপনি বাধা দিতে পারেন না যদি না অন্য ব্যবহারকারীদের সম্পাদনা ধংস্বত্মক হয়, নীতি বিরোধী হয়।
- সক পাপেটিং
- একাধিক একাউন্ট তৈরী হতে আপনি বা আপনার বন্ধুকে নিরুৎসাহিত করা হয়। কোন বিষয়ের প্রতি সাপোর্ট বাড়াতে, অন্য কাউকে ভুল পথে পরিচালনা করার জন্য বা আপনাকে ব্লক করা হলে তা এড়ানোর জন্য বা আপনার হয়ে আপনার বন্ধু-স্বজনকে একাউন্ট তৈরী করা সম্পূর্ন নৈতিকতা বিরোধী এবং উইকিপিডিয়া তা করতে আপনাকে নিরুৎসাহিত করে।
- ব্যবহারকারী নামের নীতি
- উইকিপিডিয়ায় আপনার সুন্দর, গ্রহণযোগ্য ও পছন্দের একটি নাম বেছে নিন। কোন কারনে নাম পরিবর্তন করতে হলে অনুরোধের মাধ্যমে তা করা যেতে পারে তবে নাম পরিবর্তনর জন্য তা ডিলিট করার প্রয়োজন নেই। নামেই আপনার পরিচয় তাই অপ্রাসঙ্গিক, বিশ্রি, গালি, খিস্তি, অশালীন নামের কোন একাউন্ট তৈরী হতে বিরত থাকুন। দেখা মাত্রই তার বিরুদ্ধে ব্যবস্থা নেয়া হবে।
- ধ্বংসপ্রবণতা
- সম্পাদনার ক্ষেত্রে ইচ্ছাকৃতভাবে ধ্বংসাত্মক ক্রিয়ার মাধ্যমে কোন নিবন্ধকে ডিলিট, পরির্বতন, সম্প্রসারন করে উইকিপিডিয়ার নীতি বিরুদ্ধ কোন কনটেন্ট জোর করে প্রতিষ্ঠার চেষ্টা করলে সেটি অবৈধ বলে বিবেচিত হবে। এই প্রকারের আচরণ উইকিপিডিয়া সম্প্রদায়ের জন্য অনুপযুক্ত।
- অভ্যন্তরীন দ্বন্ধ
- প্রশাসকগণ কোন প্রশাসনিক ব্যবস্থা নিলে সেটির বিরুদ্ধে যায় এমন কোন পদক্ষেপ নেয়া হতে বিরত থাকুন (প্রশাসক শ্রেনীর জন্য প্রযোজ্য)।

- Biographies of living persons
- Articles about living persons, which require a degree of sensitivity, must adhere strictly to Wikipedia's content policies. Be very firm about high-quality references, particularly about details of personal lives. "Unsourced or poorly sourced contentious material — whether negative, positive, or just questionable — about living persons should be removed immediately and without discussion from Wikipedia articles, talk pages, user pages, and project space."
- Naming conventions
- Generally, article naming should give priority to what the majority of English speakers worldwide would most easily recognize, with a reasonable minimum of ambiguity, while at the same time making linking to those articles easy and second nature.
- Neutral point of view
- Everything that our readers can see, including templates, categories and portals, should be written from a Neutral Point of View.
- No original research
- Articles may not contain any unpublished theories, data, statements, concepts, arguments, or ideas; or any new interpretation, analysis, or synthesis of published data, statements, concepts, arguments, or ideas that, in the words of Wikipedia's co-founder Jimbo Wales, would amount to a "novel narrative or historical interpretation."
- Non-free content criteria
- The Exemption Doctrine Policy for the English Wikipedia. The cases in which you can declare an image, audio clip, or video clip "fair use" are quite narrow. You must specify the exact use, and only use the image or clip in that one context.
- Verifiability
- We cannot check the accuracy of claims, but we can check whether the claims have been published by a reputable publication. Articles should therefore cite sources whenever possible. Any unsourced material may be challenged and removed.
- What Wikipedia is not
- Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia. Please avoid the temptation to use Wikipedia for other purposes.

- Attack pages
- A Wikipedia article, page, category, redirect or image that exists primarily to disparage its subject is an "attack page". These pages are subject to being deleted by any administrator at any time.
- Category deletion policy
- Deleting categories follows roughly the same process as articles, except that it is described on a different page. Categories that do not conform to naming conventions can be "speedily renamed".
- Criteria for speedy deletion
- Articles, images, categories etc. may be "speedily deleted" if they clearly fall within certain categories, which generally boil down to pages lacking content, or disruptive pages. Anything potentially controversial should go through the deletion process instead.
- Deletion policy
- Deleting articles requires an administrator and generally follows a consensus-forming process. Most potentially controversial deletions require a three-step process and a waiting period of a week.
- Office actions
- The Wikimedia Foundation office reserves the right to speedily delete an article temporarily in cases of exceptional controversy.
- Oversight
- Page revisions can be deleted for legal reasons.
- Proposed deletion
- As a shortcut around the Articles for Deletion ("AfD") process, for uncontroversial deletions an article can be proposed for deletion, though once only. If no one contests the proposed deletion within seven days, an administrator may delete the article.

- Banning policy

- Blocking policy
- Disruptive editors can be blocked from editing for short or long amounts of time.
- GlobalBlocking
- A steward may block an IP address or IP address range from editing all WMF projects to prevent cross-wiki disruption or to enforce the prohibition against editing from open proxies. Globally blocked editors may be unblocked locally, at the discretion of an Administrator.
- Mediation policy
- Rules for how the Mediation Committee conducts formal mediation.
- Open proxies
- Open proxies may be blocked from editing for any period at any time to deal with editing abuse.
- Protection policy
- Pages can be protected against vandals or during fierce content disputes. Protected pages can, but in general should not, be edited by administrators. In addition, pages undergoing frequent vandalism can be semi-protected to block edits by very new or unregistered editors.

Outside of policies, such as those below and the office actions policy, Wikipedia does not censor itself of content that may be objectionable or offensive, or adopt other perennial legal proposals, so long as it obeys the law of the United States and state of Florida. - CheckUser is a tool allowed to be used by a small number of editors who are permitted to examine user IP information and other server log data under certain circumstances, for the purposes of protecting Wikipedia against actual and potential disruption and abuse.
- Copyrights
- Material which infringes other copyrights must not be added. The legalities of copyright and "fair use" are quite complex.
- Copyright violations
- Wikipedia has no tolerance for copyright violations in our encyclopedia, and we actively strive to find and remove any violations.
- Image use policy
- Generally avoid uploading non-free images; fully describe images' sources and copyright details on their description pages, and try to make images as useful and reusable as possible.
- Libel
- It is Wikipedia policy to delete libelous revisions from the page history. If you believe you have been defamed, please contact us.
- Reusing Wikipedia content
- Most of Wikipedia's material may be freely used under the CC-BY-SA and GFDL, which means you must credit authors, relicense the material under CC-BY-SA or GFDL and allow free access to it.
