ভারতীয় ধর্ম
চারটি ভারতীয় ধর্মে প্রচলিত পবিত্র ওঁ প্রতীক। উপরে বাঁদিক থেকে ঘড়ির কাঁটার ক্রমে: হিন্দু বিশ্বাস অনুযায়ী, ব্রহ্মের একাক্ষর নাম ‘ওঁ’ (বাংলা লিপিতে); জৈন বিশ্বাস অনুযায়ী, পঞ্চ-পরমেষ্ঠির সংক্ষিপ্ত একাক্ষর রূপ ‘ঔঁ’; বজ্রযান বৌদ্ধধর্মের পবিত্র ‘ওঁ’ মন্ত্র (তিব্বতি লিপিতে); শিখদের প্রধান ধর্মগ্রন্থ গুরু গ্রন্থ সাহিবের সূচনায় নিবদ্ধ ‘ইক ওঙ্কার’ (অর্থাৎ, ‘এক ঈশ্বর’)।
ভারতীয় ধর্ম বলতে ভারতীয় উপমহাদেশে উদ্ভূত ধর্মবিশ্বাসগুলিকে বোঝায়। এই ধর্মগুলি হল হিন্দুধর্ম, জৈনধর্ম, বৌদ্ধধর্ম ও শিখধর্ম। ইংরেজিতে অনেক সময় ভারতীয় ধর্মগুলিকে ধার্মিক রিলিজিয়নস (ইংরেজি: Dharmic religions) নামেও অভিহিত করা হয়।[web ১][note ১] এই ধর্মবিশ্বাসগুলিকে প্রাচ্যদেশীয় ধর্ম বর্গেরও অন্তর্ভুক্ত করা হয়। ভারতীয় ধর্মগুলি ভারতের ইতিহাসের দ্বারা পরস্পর সম্পর্কযুক্ত হলেও এগুলি থেকে বহু-সংখ্যক বৈচিত্র্যপূর্ণ ধর্মীয় সম্প্রদায়ের উদ্ভব ঘটেছে। বর্তমানে এই ধর্মমতগুলি ভারতীয় উপমহাদেশের মধ্যেই সীমাবদ্ধ নয়।[web ১] ভারতীয় ধর্মকে আর্য ধর্মও বলা হয়ে থাকে।
