জেমস আব্রাম গারফিল্ড (১৯ নভেম্বর ১৮৩১ - ১৯ সেপ্টেম্বর ১৮৮১[১]) ছিলেন মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের ২০তম রাষ্ট্রপতি, যিনি ১৮৮১ সালের মার্চ থেকে জুলাই মাসে তাঁর গুপ্তহত্যার চেষ্টার পর সেই বছরের সেপ্টেম্বরে তাঁর মৃত্যু পর্যন্ত দায়িত্ব পালন করেন। একজন ধর্মপ্রচারক, আইনজীবী এবং মার্কিন গৃহযুদ্ধের জেনারেল, গারফিল্ড মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের প্রতিনিধি পরিষদে নয় মেয়াদে দায়িত্ব পালন করেছেন এবং তিনিই রাষ্ট্রপতি নির্বাচিত হওয়া একমাত্র বর্তমান সদস্য। রাষ্ট্রপতি পদে প্রার্থী হওয়ার আগে, তিনি ওহাইও সাধারণ পরিষদ দ্বারা মার্কিন সিনেটর নির্বাচিত হয়েছিলেন — রাষ্ট্রপতি নির্বাচিত হওয়ার পরে তিনি ঐ পদ প্রত্যাখ্যান করেছিলেন।
