ওয়াহেগুরু (পাঞ্জাবি: ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ[note ১], উচ্চারণ: [ʋäːɦɪɡʊɾuː], শব্দগত অর্থ : "ওহ্ গুরু",[১] প্রকৃত অনুবাদের অর্থ "বিস্ময়কর ঈশ্বর", বা, "বিস্ময়কর রক্ষক।"[২][৩]) হলো শিখধর্মে স্রষ্টা বুঝাতে ব্যবহৃত শব্দ, যা গুরু গ্রন্থ সাহিবে প্রদত্ত বিবরণে রয়েছে।[৪][৫][৬][৭] এটি আধুনিক শিখধর্মে ঈশ্বরকে নির্দেশকারী সবচেয়ে সাধারণ শব্দ।[৩]
অর্থ[সম্পাদনা]
বাহে্গুরু (ইংরেজিতে "ওয়াহেগুরু" হিসেবে উচ্চারিত হয়) শব্দের অর্থ ঐতিহ্যগতভাবে বিবৃত হয় : বাহ্ - 'বিস্ময়কর!' (ইংরেজি 'wow' শব্দের পাঞ্জাবি ভাষার প্রতিশব্দ) এবং গুরু - ঈশ্বর, আধ্যাত্মিক পথপ্রদর্শক, শিক্ষকের সংস্কৃত প্রতিশব্দ; একত্রে এর দ্বারা "আশ্চর্যজনক ঈশ্বর" বুঝায়। এটি ঐশ্বরিক বিস্ময় এবং সেই বিস্ময়ের প্রকাশের উপর নির্ভর করে গঠিত।[৮][১] শব্দটির অর্থের আরেকটি ব্যাখ্যা হল যে, এটি একজন মহান প্রশিক্ষককে বোঝায় যিনি তার ছাত্রদের কাছ থেকে অন্ধকার দূরীভূত করেন এবং তাদের আলোকিত করেন।[৯]
ওয়াহেগুরুকে একটি নিরাকার এবং সর্বব্যাপী ঈশ্বর হিসাবে বর্ণনা করা হয়েছে এবং কল্পনা করা হয়েছে যার সাথে একজন ভক্ত শিখ গুরুদের শিক্ষা অনুসরণ করে ব্যক্তিগত সম্পর্ক স্থাপন করতে সক্ষম হয়।[১০] ওয়াহেগুরুকে পরম মঙ্গল বলে মনে করা হয় - যার মধ্যে শুদ্ধ আত্মা মিশে যায়, যখন মন্দ তার আগে পরাজিত হয়।

There are many names of God in Sikhism; the most uttered is Waheguru which means wonderful Lord. Satnam means True name. Akal Purakh is Timeless one or eternal being. Sikhs believe that one true God is the Lord of all religions and they do not have the exclusive right on Him. No single religion can have the monopoly of God and different religions are various ways towards the same Waheguru. "You are the Father, Mother, Friend, Brother, with you as Friend, support everywhere, what fear can I have?"

"The way the Gurus have taught about the Creator is that it is both manifest and unmanifest, both formless and form, both beyond our comprehension and something that lives inside of ourselves. God is a collective, creative energy that runs through the entire creation, and is also holding the entire creation, and is manifest in the entire creation that is inside of me, and that consciousness has no fear and no anger. The Divine moves by its own impulse, by its own purity, by its own projection. So it's something that is within me, and is way bigger than me. It's within everything, and holding everything. It's playful, and it's something you can experience as a human being. You can touch that Creator, that divine light inside of yourself."

He: an address to Him. Guru: One who takes from darkness to light. Thus "Waheguru" means, magnificent and great teacher who will take me from darkness to light. "Waheguru" is repeated by the Sikhs at the time of initiation into "Khalsa" and is repeated by the initiates in meditation and is used as an address for the God. Once one remembers Him as guru, He is bound to take that person across the ocean of maya and bestow His Grace and Divine Knowledge or Holy Science. Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru gave the greeting slogan of "Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa, Waheguruji ki Fateh." i.e. Khalsa belongs to Waheguru and glory be Him. Thus, His Name as "Waheguru" is very appropriate, pious and sanctified and can be repeated without seeking blessing from another human being. This Name is already sanctified.
