এই তালিকাতে পৃথিবীর প্রত্যেকটি প্রাচীন ও নবীন দেশের নামগুলিকে তাদের ব্যুৎপত্তি সহ কভার করা হয়ছে৷ এর মধ্যে কিছু দেশের প্রচীন অথবা আঞ্চলিক নাম এবং তাদের ব্যুৎপত্তি সংক্রান্ত নোট রয়েছে। তির্যক ভাষায় দেশগুলি অন্য কোনো দেশীয় নাম বা সার্বভৌম রাজনৈতিক সত্তা হিসাবে তার আর বিদ্যমান নয়।
