গেরুয়া রঙের মৃৎপাত্র হল ইন্দো-গাঙ্গেয় সমভূমির ব্রোঞ্জযুগের সংস্কৃতি, এবং এর সময়কাল আনুমানিক বিংশ শতাব্দী খ্রিষ্টপূর্বাব্দ থেকে পঞ্চদশ শতাব্দী খ্রিষ্টপূর্বাব্দ,"[১][২] পূর্ব পাঞ্জাব থেকে উত্তর-পূর্ব রাজস্থান এবং পশ্চিম-উত্তর প্রদেশ পর্যন্ত বিস্তৃত।[৩][৪]
এই সংস্কৃতির নিদর্শনগুলি হরপ্পা সংস্কৃতি এবং বৈদিক সংস্কৃতি উভয়ের সাথেই মিল দেখায়।[৫][৬] প্রত্নতাত্ত্বিক আকিনোরি উয়েসুগি এটিকে পূর্ববর্তী হরপ্পান বারা শৈলীর প্রত্নতাত্ত্বিক ধারাবাহিকতা হিসেবে বিবেচনা করেন,[৭] যদিও পারপোলার মতে, এই সংস্কৃতিতে গাড়ির সন্ধান ভারত উপমহাদেশে ইন্দো-ইরানীয় অভিবাসনকে প্রতিফলিত করতে পারে, যা প্রয়াত হরপ্পার সাথে যোগাযোগ করে।[৬] গেরুয়া রঙের মৃৎপাত্র উত্তর ভারতীয় ব্রোঞ্জযুগের শেষ পর্যায়কে চিহ্নিত করেছে এবং এর উত্তরসূরি লৌহযুগ কালো ও লাল মৃৎপাত্র এবং চিত্রিত ধূসর মৃৎপাত্র সংস্কৃতির দ্বারা।
