এশীয় সিংহ , সিংহ বর্গে অন্তর্ভুক্ত একটি প্রাণী। এর বৈজ্ঞানিক নাম হল Panthera leo leo। বর্তমানে এই ধরনের সিংহগুলি কেবলমাত্র ভারতের গুজরাতে গীর বনে পাওয়া যায়। সেখানে এই সিংহগুলি ভারতীয় সিংহ বা পার্শিয়ান সিংহ নামে পরিচিত।[২][৩] ২০০৫ সালে গুজরাত সরকার কর্তৃক পরিচালিত এক জরিপের ফলাফল থেকে জানা যায় যে, গীর বনে ৩৫৯টি এশীয় সিংহ রয়েছে।[৪]

অতীতে এই সিংহের বিচরণ ছিল মেডিটেরানিয়ান সাগর থেকে ভারতীয় উপমহাদেশের উত্তর-পূর্ব অংশ পর্যন্ত। কিন্তু অত্যধিক শিকার, পানি দূষণ ও খাদ্যাভাবে এই সিংহের সংখ্যা ও বিচরণক্ষেত্রের পরিমাণ দিন দিন কমছে। [৫] ঐতিহাসিকভাবে এই সিংহকে তিনটি প্রজাতিতে ভাগ করা যায় - বাংলাদেশী, আরবিয়, পার্শিয়ান[৬] এই বর্গের সিংহগুলি তাদের একই শ্রেণীর আফ্রিকান সিংহগুলির তুলনায় কম আক্রমণশীল।
