ওয়েস্ট্যান হিউজ অড্যান (ইংরেজি: Wystan Hugh Auden, টেমপ্লেট:PronEng) (২১ ফেব্রুয়ারি, ১৯০৭ – ২৯ সেপ্টেম্বর, ১৯৭৩) ছিলেন একজন অ্যাংলো-আমেরিকান কবি। তাঁর প্রকাশিত গ্রন্থে ডব্লিউ. এইচ. অড্যান নামটিই বেশি ব্যবহৃত হয়ে থাকে। তাঁর জন্ম ইংল্যান্ডে হলেও পরবর্তীকালে তিনি মার্কিন নাগরিকত্ব গ্রহণ করেছিলেন। অড্যানকে বিংশ শতাব্দীর অন্যতম শ্রেষ্ঠ সাহিত্যিক মনে করা হয়। লেখার চারুত্ব ও কৌশলগত দক্ষতা, রাজনৈতিক ও নৈতিকতা-সংক্রান্ত বিষয়গুলির উপস্থিতি এবং গঠন ও উপাদানের বৈচিত্র্যের জন্য তাঁর রচনা প্রসিদ্ধ। তাঁর কবিতার কেন্দ্রীয় বিষয়বস্তুগুলি হল প্রেম, রাজনীতি ও নাগরিকত্ব, ধর্ম ও নীতিবোধ, অদ্বিতীয় মানবসত্ত্বা ও নামহীন, ব্যক্তিত্বহীন প্রকৃতির পারস্পরিক সম্পর্ক।

বার্মিংহামের একটি পেশাদার মধ্যবিত্ত পরিবারে অড্যান বেড়ে উঠেছিলেন। অক্সফোর্ডের ক্রাইস্ট চার্চ কলেজে তিনি ইংরেজি সাহিত্য অধ্যয়ন করেছিলেন। ১৯২০-এর দশকের শেষদিকে এবং ১৯৩০-এর দশকের প্রথম দিকে তিনি তাঁর প্রথম যুগের কবিতাগুলি লিখেছিলেন। এই কবিতাগুলি আধুনিক সংক্ষিপ্ত শৈলী এবং প্রাচীন প্রবহমান শৈলীর মিশ্রণে রচিত হয়েছিল। কাব্যভাষা ছিল অত্যন্ত শক্তিশালী এবং নাটকীয়তা-পূর্ণ। এই কবিতাগুলি বামপন্থী রাজনৈতিক কবি ও ভাবদ্রষ্টা-রূপে তাঁকে সুপরিচিত করে তুলেছিল। ১৯৩০-এর দশকের শেষদিকে এই কারণে যুক্তরাজ্যে বাস তাঁর পক্ষে কষ্টকর হয়ে ওঠে। ১৯৩৯ সালে তিনি যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে চলে যান এবং ১৯৪৬ সালে সেদেশের নাগরিকত্ব গ্রহণ করেন। ১৯৪০-এর দশকে লেখা তাঁর কবিতাগুলির কেন্দ্রীয় বিষয় ছিল মূলত ধর্মীয় ও নৈতিকতা-সংক্রান্ত। আগের রচনাগুলির তুলনায় এই কবিতাগুলিতে নাটকীয় উপাদান ছিল কম। তবে অড্যানের নিজস্ব ধারায় পুরনো ও নতুন শৈলীর মিশ্রণের প্রক্রিয়া এখানেও অব্যাহত থাকে। ১৯৫০-এর এবং ১৯৬০-এর দশকে তিনি অধিক মনোযোগ দেন শব্দের মাধ্যমে আবেগ প্রকাশ ও গোপন করার শৈলীটির দিকে। এই সময় অপেরা লিবারেটো-জাতীয় রচনার প্রতি তাঁর আগ্রহ বৃদ্ধি পায়। কারণ শক্তিশালী অনুভূতিগুলির প্রকাশের ক্ষেত্রে এই মাধ্যমটি ছিল বেশ উপযুক্ত।

গদ্য প্রবন্ধ এবং সাহিত্য, রাজনীতি, মনস্তত্ত্ব ও ধর্মীয় বিষয়ে সমালোচনামূলক লেখালিখিতেও তাঁর বিশেষ খ্যাতি ছিল। বিভিন্ন সময়ে নানা তথ্যচিত্র, কাব্যনাটক ইত্যাদিতেও কাজ করেছিলেন তিনি। তাঁর কর্মজীবনের পুরো সময়টাতেই তিনি ছিলেন একাধারে বিতর্কিত ও প্রভাবশালী। মৃত্যুর পর চলচ্চিত্র, সম্প্রচার ও অন্যান্য মাধ্যমে প্রচারিত হওয়ার দরুন তাঁর "ফিউনারেল ব্লুজ" ("স্টপ অল দ্য ক্লকস") ও "সেপ্টেম্বর ১, ১৯৩৯" কবিতাদুটি ব্যাপক জনপ্রিয়তা অর্জন করে।
