বাবা ওমর দরগাহ ( উর্দু: بابا امر درگاہ ) ভারতের মহারাষ্ট্রের সোলাপুরের একটি বিখ্যাত ইসলামী মাজার। [১] এটি শিশু ছোঁড়া প্রথার জন্য পরিচিত। এই প্রথাতে শিশুদের ১৫ মিটার উঁচু প্ল্যাটফর্ম থেকে মুসলিম এবং হিন্দু উভয় পুরুষের হাতে রাখা কাপড়ে ফেলে দেওয়া হয়। [২][৩] এই প্রথাটি পাঁচশো থেকে সাতশো বছরের পুরানো। [৪] এলাকার বাচ্চারা একটি মাজার তৈরির জন্য মারা যাচ্ছিল এবং এই অসুস্থ শিশুদের সর্বশক্তিমানের প্রতি আস্থা দেখানোর জন্য পীর সাহেব তাদের ছাদ থেকে খেলার দেওয়ার পরামর্শ দিয়েছিলেন। তারপরে দেখা যায় শিশুরা মাঝ বাতাসে ঠিক যেন বিছানায় দোলনায় শুয়ে দুলছে। এবং তারা অলৌকিক ভাবে সুরক্ষিত। [৫]

Though as chilling as it sounds, this 'baby throwing' ritual is considered absolutely normal at the Baba Umer Dargah, Solapur, Maharashtra. Dropping a distance of about 50 feet, the terrified toddlers hurtle through the air before being caught in a sheet held by waiting men. Baby-throwing rituals have had worldwide attention since August, when an Indian TV crew filmed footage of screaming infants being dropped from a 50 foot temple tower in Haranga, a village in the West Indian state of Maharashtra. A similar custom has been recorded at the Baba Umer Durga shrine in the village of Solapur, about 280 miles south of Mumbai.
