i was going for the lal for USSR scheme.. with yellow lettering if possible, just like it would be nice to have a green red color scheme for bangladeshi templates.

and it's everywhere in english wikipedia.. see some of the football team templates for the world cup for example --Peripatetic ২০:১৫, ১২ জুন ২০০৬ (UTC)

I think red is ok, but only in lighter tints. The previous color scheme for the page was too red .. which was not consistent with the looks of the rest of the page. Keeping it red would be fine, but only in lighter tints, so that the black text doesn't get hidden... also the color shouldn't be something on which the reader focuses at first sight.
