বিশ্বনাথ চৌধুরী একজন বিপ্লবী সমাজতান্ত্রিক দলের রাজনীতিবিদ, এবং বালুরঘাট থেকে আটবার বিধায়ক। তিনি এক শতাব্দী ধরে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের জেল ও সমাজকল্যাণ মন্ত্রী ছিলেন।

সাতবারের বিধায়ক[সম্পাদনা]

বিশ্বনাথ চৌধুরী, বালুরঘাট কলেজ থেকে স্নাতক,[১] ১৯৭৭ সালে প্রথম বিধায়ক হন[২] তারপরে, তিনি ১৯৮২,[৩] ১৯৮৭,[৪] ১৯৯১,[৫] ১৯৯৬,[৬] ২০০১[৭] এবং ২০০৬ সালে বিধায়ক হিসাবে অবিরত ছিলেন[৮] ২০১১ সালের নির্বাচনে তিনি সর্বভারতীয় তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের শঙ্কর চক্রবর্তীর কাছে হেরে যান।[৯]

বিশ্বনাথ চৌধুরী ১৯৮৬ থেকে ২০১১ সাল পর্যন্ত ২৫ বছর পশ্চিমবঙ্গের জেল ও সমাজকল্যাণ মন্ত্রী ছিলেন।[১০]
