তর্জনি ওয়াকিল

তর্জনি ওয়াকিল হলেন একজন পেশাদার ভারতীয় ব্যাংকার এবং ভারতের কোন বড় ব্যাংকের প্রধান পদে দায়িত্বপালনকারী প্রথম নারী। ১৯৯৩ সালে তিনি এক্সিম ব্যাংকের চেয়ারপারসন হয়েছিলেন।^[১]^[২]^[৩] মুম্বই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়থেকে ইতিহাসে স্নাতকোত্তর ডিগ্রি অর্জন করার পরে ১৯৫৮ সালে তিনি মহারাষ্ট্র রাজ্যের অর্থ কমিশনে একজন কেরানী হিসাবে তার কর্মজীবন শুরু করেছিলেন। ১৯৬৫ সাল পর্যন্ত তিনি ভারতের শিল্প উন্নয়ন ব্যাংকের একমাত্র নারী কর্মকর্তা ছিলেন।^[৪] তিনি যখন এক্সিম ব্যাংকের চেয়ারপারসন এবং ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালক ছিলেন, তখন এর যাবতীয় সম্পদের পরিমাণ ছিল ১.১ বিলিয়ন মার্কিন ডলার।^[৫] ১৯৯৬ সালে তিনি এক্সিম ব্যাংক থেকে অবসর গ্রহণ করেছিলেন।^[৬]
