অশ্বমেধদত্ত ছিলেন কুরু রাজ্যের রাজা। তিনি মধ্য বৈদিক যুগে রাজত্ব করেছিলেন। তিনি রাজা জনমেজয়ের পৌত্র (এবং জনমেজয়পুত্র শতানিকের পুত্র) ছিলেন।^[১]^[২]

তিনি তার পিতামহের স্থলাভিষিক্ত হন। তার পৌত্র রাজা নিচক্ষু কুরু বংশের বৎস শাখার প্রতিষ্ঠাতা।^[৩]^{:১১৭–৮} ^[৪]
