কনভার্সন থেরাপি হচ্ছে একপ্রকার অপবিজ্ঞানের চর্চা যার মাধ্যমে ব্যক্তির সমকামিতা অথবা উভমকামিতা নামক যৌন অভিমুখিতা থেকে বিষমকামী যৌন অভিমুখিতায় পরিবর্তনের চেষ্টা করা হয়। যার যৌন অভিমুখিতা পরিবর্তনের জন্য এই চর্চা করা হবে, সেই চর্চায় তাকে নানাবিধ ধর্মীয় ও মনস্তাত্ত্বিক চাপের মধ্যে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়। এমন কোনো নির্ভরযোগ্য প্রমাণ নেই, যা থেকে বলা যেতে পারে, যৌন অভিমুখিতা পরিবর্তনশীল এবং চিকিৎসা শাস্ত্রীয় বই গুলো সতর্ক করেছে যে, এই ধরনের চর্চা একইসাথে অকার্যকর ও গুরুতরভাবে ক্ষতিকর। তা সত্ত্বেও এর প্রবক্তা ও এর সমর্থনকারীরা কল্পিত প্রতিবেদনের ভিত্তিতে দাবী করেছেন, এই চর্চার ফলে কেও কেও আসলেই বিষমকামীতে পরিবর্তিত হয়।[১][২][৩][৪][৫][৬][৭] যুক্তরাষ্ট্র ও যুক্তরাজ্যের চিকিৎসাশাস্ত্রীয়, বিজ্ঞানভিত্তিক সরকারী সংস্থা ও যুক্তরাষ্ট এই ধরনের থেরাপির উপর উদ্বেগ প্রকাশ করেছেন।[৮][৯][১০][১১][১২][১৩] এশিয়া, ইউরোপ ও আমেরিকার কিছু স্থানের বিচার ব্যবস্থায় এই থেরাপির বিরুদ্ধে আইন পাস করা হয়েছে।
