This template is used to make nominations at the DYK suggestion page. It is intended to supersede the previous nomination system, {{DYKsug}} and {{DYKsuggestion}}

Usage

This template must be substituted.

The article=, hook=, and author= parameters are required. All other parameters are optional. There is no need to sign with ~~~~ at the end of the template; that is done automatically.

Examples:

Usage guidelines

Parameter	How to use	When to use
|article=	Title of the article, not wikilinked.	Required
|article2=	May be used if the hook has multiple articles; goes up to |article8= If there are more than five articles, the nominator will have to leave a note (after the hook) indicating the other articles.	When nominating multiple articles
|hook=	The text of the hook, formatted using wiki markup; it will display exactly as it is written in this field. The article should be wikilinked and should appear in bold.	Required
|author=	Username of the article creator or article expander. It should not be in wiki markup (no ~~~~ and User: should not be included. As many as 4 authors may be listed, each under separate parameters (up to |author4=)	Required
|nominator=	Userame of the article nominator, only if it is different from the article author (if you are both the nominator and the author, only list yourself as the author). It should not be in wiki markup and User: should not be included. If left blank, it defaults to "Self nom."	If you are not a major contributor to the article.
|status=	new or expanded	Anytime
|comment=	Any extra comments, such as "Article expanded from redirect" or "Other fairly bizarre pictures are available in article." May be used to specify credits and other details in complicated nominations.
|image=	Filename of the image being used, written as Example.png. File: and the attributes such as "right" and "100px" should not be included; those are added automatically.	If you are including an image with your nomination.
|rollover=	The rollover text to go with the image.	If you are including an image with your nomination.
|sound=	Filename of the sound being used, written as Example.ogg, without File: or any other attributes.	If you are including a sound with your nomination.
|soundcaption=	The caption to be displayed with the sound. This should be very brief - a few words at most.	If you are including a sound with your nomination.
|video=	Filename of the video being used, written as Example.ogv, without File: or any other attributes.	If you are including a video with your nomination.
|videocaption=	The caption to be displayed with the video. This should be very brief - a few words at most.	If you are including a video with your nomination.
|ALT1=	An alternate hook, formatted like the regular hook. |ALT2= does the same thing.	If you are suggesting an alternate hook at the same time as the first hook.
