This template provides a uniformly formated link to an AFL/VFL footballer's profile page on the AFL Tables website.

The first "ref" parameter is the exact folder and page name on the AFL Tables website. This is always in the form of:

ref=FirstInitial/FirstName_LastName.html

Where multiple players have the same name, then the usual system is to add a number before the .html (ie N/Nathan_Brown0.html, N/Nathan_Brown1.html & N/Nathan_Brown2.html . Once created, please click on the new link to check that it is correctly linked.

The second "alt" parameter is an optional alternative text field to change the written description of the link. This is most useful to avoid having the link include a qualifier (ie allows you to change Peter F. Bell to Peter Bell, or Jonathan Brown (footballer) to Jonathan Brown.
