Hi Wolf, First of all, great job so far on this transliteration page - it looks great! Having seen this, I've started on the Chinese and Spanish versions. So, considering Standard Swedish normally drops the রেফ in র্ত, র্দ, র্ন, র্স but changes the following ত, দ, ন, স to ট, ড, ণ, ষ (and lengthens the preceding vowel), I think you have two options here:
- System #1: Only show the pronunciation without the রেফ, and show the ত, দ, ন, স changed to ট, ড, ণ, ষ, so a title might look like this:
- System #2: Show both pronunciations, with র্ত, র্দ, র্ন, র্স in the boldface version (the Bengali borrowing), and ট, ড, ণ, ষ in the italicized version (the phonetic pronunciation), so a title might look like this:
These both sound like consistent, clear systems to me - I think I'd lean towards #1, but I really think you should decide since you are our resident Swedish-Bengali bilingual. However, since ণ and ষ are dispreferred in new Bengali words, you can replace those with ন and শ in the boldface version if you choose system #1, but you can keep them in the phonetic pronunciation whether you choose #1 or #2.
