Science Bee is an educational organization of Bangladesh. In 2018, entrepreneur S. M. It was founded by Mobin Sikder. [১] It was established to promote science and technology education among students.[২] The platform keeps up students by creating science-based news, blogs, Q&As, videos and informative posts through Websites, Facebook and YouTube.[৩] This platform and its website produce contents in Bengali . [৪]

History[সম্পাদনা]

In 2018, student from Jahangirnagar University named S. M. Mobin Sikder founded Science Bee.[৫] He founded it with the idea of disseminating science education in Bengali for free throughout the country via internet .[৬] In the beginning they did not have a website and used social media Facebook to publish informative infographics and news for students. In 2019 activities started through the website.[৭] The website used to publish various science topics and news in Bengali, then accelerated with the help of social media .[৮] [৯] Next came the Q&A site where there is an opportunity to earn points besides the service of asking questions and getting answers. Finally , e-book services were added. [১০]

Education Methods[সম্পাদনা]

As of August 2023, according to Science Bee's own website, 800+ news articles, 350+ blogs, 27,000+ Q&As and 3 e-books have been published. Currently this organization has 12 lakh active members. [১১] This institution provides education through Facebook and YouTube. In addition, the website of the institution provides science news, research, science blog, questions and answers in some branches of curricular and extra-curricular science education. [১২] There are also options to take quizzes and model tests to improve the skills of students. Up to now, the platform has organized more than 50 competitions.[১৩] There is also direct communication with the country's scientists and technologists through the 'Science Live' programme. Besides, as the latest project, 'Science Workshop' has been undertaken. Under which free workshops are organized for students in rural areas of Bangladesh on importance of science, practical issues, and overcoming fear of science. [১৪]
