সমালোচনা হল কারো বা কিছুর নেতিবাচক বা ইতিবাচক গুণাবলী সম্পর্কে একটি রায় নির্মাণ। সমালোচনা তাৎক্ষণিক মন্তব্য থেকে লিখিত বিশদ প্রতিক্রিয়া পর্যন্ত হতে পারে। [১] সমালোচনা "তাত্ত্বিক, ব্যবহারিক, ইম্প্রেশনিস্টিক, ইফেক্টিভ, প্রেসক্রিপটিভ বা বর্ণনামূলক" সহ বেশ কয়েকটি ওভারল্যাপিং ধরণের মধ্যে পড়ে। [২]
