স্থির তড়িৎ

তড়িৎ বা আধান যখন চলাচল করে না, বরং কোন বস্তুতে আবদ্ধ থাকে, তখন তাকে স্থির তড়িৎ (ইংরেজি ভাষায়: Static electrity) বলে। পদার্থবিজ্ঞানের যে শাখায় এই স্থির তড়িৎ নিয়ে আলোচনা করা হয় তাকে ইংরেজি ভাষায় Electrostatics বলে। বাংলায় অধ্যয়নের এই ক্ষেত্রটিকেও সাধারণভাবে স্থির তড়িৎ নামে আখ্যায়িত করা হয়।
