চন্দ্রগ্রহণ

পৃথিবী যখন পরিভ্রমণরত অবস্থায় কিছু সময়ের জন্য চাঁদ ও সূর্যের মাঝখানে এসে পড়ে, তখন পৃথিবী, চাঁদ ও সূর্য একই সরল রেখায় অবস্থান করে। পৃথিবীপৃষ্ঠের কোন দর্শকের কাছে চাঁদ আংশিক বা সম্পূর্ণরূপে কিছু সময়ের জন্য অদৃশ্য হয়ে যায়। এই ঘটনাকে চন্দ্রগ্রহণ বলা হয়।
