ধর্মপ্রচারক

একজন ধর্মপ্রচারক বা ধর্ম-অভিযাত্রী হলেন এমন কেউ যিনি কোন ধর্মীয় সংগঠনের পক্ষ থেকে একটি অঞ্চলে ধর্মপ্রচারে যুক্ত থাকেন এবং ধর্মপ্রচারের সুবিধার্থে পাশাপাশি প্রায়শ সামাজিক কার্যক্রম, যেমন শিক্ষা, চিকিৎসা ইত্যাদি পরিচালনা করেন। খান জাহান আলী, শাহজালাল, মেরি টেরিজা বোজাঝিউ প্রমুখ হলেন বিখ্যাত ধর্মপ্রচারক।

খ্রিস্টান ধর্মপ্রচারক বা ধর্ম-অভিযাত্রী[সম্পাদনা]

খ্রিস্টধর্ম প্রচার অভিযানগুলোতে সাধারণত এক দেশ বা অঞ্চল থেকে আরেক দেশ বা অঞ্চলে একজন বা কয়েকজন সন্ন্যাসী প্রেরণ করা হয়; এদেরকে ধর্মপ্রচারক বা ধর্ম-অভিযাত্রীও বলা হয়।^[১] ধর্ম-অভিযাত্রী শব্দটি গ্রিক শব্দ apóstolos-এর বাংলা অনুবাদ। apóstolos শব্দটির ইংরেজি অনুবাদ missionary।^[২] এনসাইক্লোপিডিয়া ব্রিটানিকা অনুসারে সারা বিশ্বের আনাচে কানাচে জোরালো খ্রিষ্টধর্ম প্রচার অভিযানের কারণে বর্তমান বিশ্বের এক তৃতীয়াংশ মানুষ খ্রিষ্টধর্মে অনুসারী।^[৩] বাইবেলে খ্রিষ্ট ধর্মপ্রচারে উৎসাহ প্রদান করে বলা হয়েছে, "অতএব তোমরা গিয়ে সমস্ত জাতিকে শিষ্য কর, পিতার ও পুত্রের ও পবিত্র আত্মার নামে তাদের বাপ্তিষ্ম দাও, আমি তোমাদের যা যা আদেশ দিয়েছি, সে সমস্ত পালন করতে তাদের শিক্ষা দাও। আর দেখ, আমিই যুগের শেষ পর্যন্ত প্রতিদিন তোমাদের সঙ্গে সঙ্গে আছি।” (মথি ২৮:১৯–২০)
