সৃষ্টিপুরাণ বা মহাজাগতিক পুরাণ হলো এক ধরনের সৃষ্টিতত্ত্ব,[২] কীভাবে বিশ্ব শুরু হয়েছিল এবং কীভাবে লোকেরা প্রথম সেখানে বসবাস করতে এসেছিল তার প্রতীকী বর্ণনা।[৩][৪][৫] যদিও জনপ্রিয় ব্যবহারে পুরাণ শব্দটি প্রায়শই মিথ্যা বা কাল্পনিক কাহিনীকে বোঝায়, সংস্কৃতির সদস্যরা প্রায়শই তাদের সৃষ্টি পুরাণে বিভিন্ন মাত্রার সত্যকে আরোপ করে।[৬][৭] যে সম্প্রদায়ে এটি কথিত, সেখানে সৃষ্টি পুরাণকে সাধারণত গভীর সত্য - রূপকীয়, প্রতীকী, ঐতিহাসিক বা আক্ষরিক অর্থে বোঝানো হয়।।[৮][৯] এগুলি সাধারণত, যদিও সর্বদা নয়, নিসর্গীয় পৌরাণিক কাহিনী হিসেবে বিবেচিত হয় – অর্থাৎ, তারা বিশৃঙ্খল অবস্থা বা নিরাকার অবস্থা থেকে মহাজাগতিকতার ক্রমকে বর্ণনা করে।[১০]
