লেবীয় পুস্তক

লেবীয় পুস্তক (হিব্রু ভাষায়: וַיִּקְרָא‎) হলো তোরাহ ও পুরাতন নিয়মের বা মোশির তৃতীয় পুস্তক। এটির উৎপত্তি সম্পর্কে পণ্ডিতদের দ্বারা উপস্থাপিত অনেক অনুমান একমত যে এটি দীর্ঘ সময়ের মধ্যে বিকশিত, পারসিক সময়কালে ৫৩৮ থেকে ৩৩২ খ্রিস্টপূর্বাব্দের মধ্যে তার বর্তমান আকারে পৌঁছায়, যদিও বিতর্কিত।

পুস্তকটির অধিকাংশ অধ্যায় (যেমন ১-৭, ১১-২৭) মোশির নিকট ঈশ্বরের বক্তৃতা নিয়ে গঠিত, যা তিনি মোশিকে ইস্রায়েলীয়দের কাছে পুনরাবৃত্তি করতে বলেন। মিশর থেকে পালিয়ে সিনাই পর্বতে পৌঁছানোর পর ইস্রায়েলীয়দের প্রস্থানের গল্পের মধ্যে এটি ঘটে। যাত্রাপুস্তক বর্ণনা করে যে মোশি কিভাবে ঈশ্বরের নির্দেশে তাদেরকে তাম্বু নির্মাণে নেতৃত্ব দেন। লেবীয় পুস্তকে উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে যে ঈশ্বর তাদের এবং তাদের পুরোহিতদের, হারুন এবং তার পুত্রদের বলেন, কীভাবে তাম্বুতে নৈবেদ্য দিতে হবে এবং পবিত্র তাঁবুর অভয়ারণ্যের চারপাশে শিবির স্থাপন করার সময় কীভাবে নিজেদের আচরণ করতে হবে। লেবীয় তাম্বুর সমাপ্তি এবং সিনাই থেকে ইস্রায়েলীয়দের প্রস্থান এর মধ্যে মাস বা দেড় মাসের মধ্যে সংঘটিত হয়।

লেবীয়য়ের নির্দেশাবলী বিশ্বাসের পরিবর্তে আচার, আইনি ও নৈতিক অনুশীলনের উপর জোর দেয়। তবুও, তারা আদি পুস্তক ১-এ সৃষ্টির গল্পের বিশ্ব দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি প্রতিফলিত করে যে ঈশ্বর মানুষের সাথে থাকতে চান। পুস্তকটি শেখায় যে অভয়ারণ্যের আচার-অনুষ্ঠানের বিশ্বস্ত কার্য সম্পাদন তা সম্ভব করে তুলতে পারে, যতক্ষণ না মানুষ যখনই সম্ভব পাপ ও অপবিত্রতা এড়িয়ে চলে। আচার-অনুষ্ঠান, বিশেষ করে পাপ এবং অপরাধের বলিদান, পাপের জন্য ক্ষমা লাভের উপায় প্রদান করে (লেবীয় ৪-৫) এবং অপবিত্রতা থেকে শুদ্ধিকরণ (লেবীয় ১১-১৬) যাতে ঈশ্বর মানুষের মধ্যে তাম্বুতে বসবাস চালিয়ে যেতে পারেন।
