ওলন্দাজ শাসনের সময় তাইওয়ানের অর্থনৈতিক উন্নতি হয়। বিপুল পরিমাণে হরিণ শিকারের পাশাপাশি মিং সাম্রাজ্য থেকে আগত হান জাতির শ্রমিকদের ব্যবহার করে ধান ও আখের আবাদ করা হয়। ওলন্দাজরা স্থানীয় আদিবাসীদেরকে খ্রিস্টধর্মে ধর্মান্তরিত করার প্রচেষ্টা চালায় এবং তাদের কাছে স্থানীয় ঐতিহ্যবাহী সংস্কৃতির যে দিকগুলি অগ্রহণযোগ্য ছিল (যেমন কাটা মাথা শিকার, বলপূর্বক গর্ভপাত, উন্মুক্ত স্থানে নগ্নতা), সেগুলি বন্ধ করার চেষ্টা করে।
