সূর্যসিদ্ধান্ত (সংস্কৃত: सूर्यसिद्धान्तः, আইএএসটি: Sūrya Siddhānta) হল ভারতীয় জ্যোতির্বিদ্যার একটি গ্রন্থ যা সংস্কৃত ভাষায় রচিত।[১][২][৩] এটি ৫০৫ খ্রিস্টাব্দে রচিত এবং এর অধ্যায় সংখ্যা চৌদ্দ।[৪][৫] সূর্যসিদ্ধান্ত নক্ষত্রমণ্ডল, গ্রহের ব্যাস এবং জ্যোতির্বিদ্যার কক্ষপথ গণনা করে বিভিন্ন গ্রহ ও চাঁদের গতি গণনা করার নিয়ম বর্ণনা করে।[২][৬] পাঠ্যটি ১৫ সহস্র খ্রিস্টাব্দের  তাল-পাতার পাণ্ডুলিপি এবং আরও কিছু নতুন পাণ্ডুলিপি থেকে জানা যায়।[৭] পাঠ্যটি আনুমানিক ৮০০ খ্রীস্টপূর্বের পাঠ্য থেকে রচিত বা সংশোধিত হয়েছিল, যেটিকেও সূর্যসিদ্ধান্ত বলা হয়।[৩] সূর্যসিদ্ধান্ত পাঠটি দুই লাইনের শ্লোক দ্বারা গঠিত, প্রতিটি লাইন দুটি অর্ধে বিভক্ত, প্রতিটি অর্ধ আটটি শব্দাংশ দ্বারা গঠিত।[৮]

১১ শতকের ফার্সি পণ্ডিত ও বহুমিত আল-বেরুনি দ্বারা বর্ণিত, সূর্যসিদ্ধান্ত নামের পাঠ্যটি প্রথম আর্যভট্ট-এর ছাত্র লতাদেব লিখেছিলেন।[৭][৯] সূর্যসিদ্ধান্তের প্রথম অধ্যায়ের দ্বিতীয় শ্লোকটি হিন্দু পুরাণের সৌর দেবতা, সূর্যের একজন দূতকে বলেছে, যেমনটি প্রায় দুই মিলিয়ন বছর আগে সত্যযুগের শেষে মায়া নামক অসুরের কথা বলা হয়েছে।[৭][১০]

সুচরিত মার্কণ্ডে এবং প্রেম শঙ্কর শ্রীবাস্তবের মতে, পাঠ্যটি দাবি করে যে পৃথিবী গোলাকার।[২] পাঠ্যটি ষষ্ঠিক ভগ্নাংশ এবং ত্রিকোণমিতিক ফাংশনগুলির প্রথম পরিচিত আলোচনার জন্য পরিচিত।[৪][৫][১১]

সূর্যসিদ্ধান্ত হল একাধিক জ্যোতির্বিদ্যা-সম্পর্কিত হিন্দু গ্রন্থের মধ্যে একটি। এটি একটি কার্যকরী পদ্ধতির প্রতিনিধিত্ব করে যা যুক্তিসঙ্গতভাবে সঠিক ভবিষ্যদ্বাণী করে।[১২][১৩][১৪] পাঠ্যটি লুনি-সৌর হিন্দু পঞ্জিকার সৌর বছরের গণনার উপর প্রভাবশালী ছিল।[১৫] পাঠ্যটি আরবি ভাষায় অনুবাদ করা হয়েছিল এবং মধ্যযুগীয় ইসলামিক ভূগোলে প্রভাবশালী ছিল।[১৬] ভারতে রচিত সমস্ত জ্যোতির্বিদ্যা সংক্রান্ত গ্রন্থের মধ্যে সূর্যসিদ্ধান্তের ভাষ্যকারের সংখ্যা সবচেয়ে বেশি। এতে গ্রহের কক্ষপথের পরামিতি সম্পর্কে তথ্য অন্তর্ভুক্ত রয়েছে, যেমন মহাযুগে বিবর্তনের সংখ্যা, কক্ষপথের অনুদৈর্ঘ্য পরিবর্তন ও সমর্থনকারী প্রমাণ এবং গণনা পদ্ধতিও অন্তর্ভুক্ত রয়েছে।[৮]
