If possible include some more section eg one on recent advances

I suggest you include some more recent research on linguistics as a later section for example you may mention those on glottochronology. You might already know it. Well I am completely an outsider and my formal training is in bioscience.. I was wondering, may be you can add a section of potential future of linguistics where upcoing subjects which were earlier fringe subdiscipline are now getting more and more importance? Eg see the references some of which could use computational power to locate the place of origin of Indo-Aryan languages to Anatolia

The thing is glottochronology is not trusted by mainstream linguists themselves. Let me quote the "Glottochronology" entry from Oxford's Concise Dictionary of Linguistics (bold emphasis mine):

Method proposed by M. Swadesh in the 1950s, by which he hoped to determine the date at which genetically related languages diverged. He assumed that every language had a basic vocabulary, whose members are replaced, by internal change or borrowing....The method is still trysted by some scholars, especially in disciplines other than linguistics.

The first paragraph itself had a few terminology and I was reading it out to a frend who knows bengali sparsely but has interest in the topic of linguistics.. and I was myself fumbling on the terminology.. i wonder if it will freighten away an average reader from exploring any fiurther.. well, that's kind of the price to pay for not including the English terminology in brackets right beside the Bengali terminology. And for a specialized discipline like this, I think it's normal for an average reader to fumble (and this is true for any language). গুলো-->গুলি, টা-->টি ইত্যাদি

For the matter of consistency over the rest of the bengali wikipedia I think it is preferable to replace the গুলো with গুলি and টা-->টি etc. What do you say? When I had freshly joined wikipedia I used to write গুলো and টা but I soon realized the futility of trying to remain too informal and switche.. For this article recently I alreayd changed one গুলো-->গুলি but then realized there are many of them in thsi article..
