কাজে নেমে পড়বার সহজ উপায় হলো নিচের যে-কোনো একটি পদ্ধতি অনুসরণ করা:

উইকিপিডিয়ার বর্তমান লক্ষ্যগুলোর অন্যতম হলো আবশ্যকীয় নিবন্ধগুলোকে সৃষ্টি ও পূর্ণতা দান করা। তালিকাটি থেকে পছন্দের যে-কোনো একটি নিবন্ধ কাজের জন্য বেছে নিন।
কি-বোর্ডের Alt + Shift + X চাপুন, বা ‘অজানা যে-কোনো পৃষ্ঠা’ লিঙ্কে ক্লিক করুন। যে-কোনো একটি নিবন্ধ আসবে, আপনি সেটাকে পরিবর্ধন বা পরিমার্জন করতে পারেন।
অসম্পূর্ণ নিবন্ধের তালিকা দেখুন, ও সেখান থেকে কোন নিবন্ধকে পরিবর্ধনের জন্য বেছে নিন।
নিবন্ধ পরিবর্ধনের জন্য তথ্যের প্রয়োজন হলে উইকিপিডিয়ার ইংরেজি সংস্করণের সাহায্য নিতে পারেন। এজন্য বাংলা নিবন্ধটির বাঁয়ে ‘অন্যান্য ভাষাসমূহ’-এর তালিকা থেকে English-এ ক্লিক করুন।
আপনার প্রথম নিবন্ধটি শুরু করার পূর্বে অনুগ্রহ করে আপনার প্রথম নিবন্ধ সম্পর্কিত দিকনির্দেশনাগুলো পড়ে নিন।
উইকিপিডিয়ানদের সাথে আলাপ করতে তাঁদের আলাপ পাতা ব্যবহার করুন অথবা সরাসরি চ্যাটের সুবিধা নিতে পারেন।
এছাড়া নিজের সম্পর্কে তথ্য আপনি আপনার ব্যবহারকারী পাতায় রাখতে পারেন। এর মাধ্যমে অন্য উইকিপিডিয়ানরা আপনার সম্পর্কে জানতে পারবে। সাহায্য চাইতে এবং মতামত রাখতে অনুগ্রহপূর্বক সম্পর্কিত পাতার আলাপ পাতা ব্যবহার করুন।

অনুগ্রহপূর্বক আলাপের পাতায় বার্তা রাখার পর সম্পাদনা টুলবারের চিহ্নে ক্লিক করার মাধ্যমে অথবা চারটি টিল্ডা (~~~~) চিহ্ন দিয়ে নাম স্বাক্ষর করুন। এটি স্বয়ংক্রিয় ভাবে আপনার নাম এবং তারিখ যোগ করবে। যদি আপনার সাহায্যের প্রয়োজন হয় তাহলে অভ্যর্থনা কমিটির যে-কোনো সদস্যকে প্রশ্নটি করুন, বা আপনার আলাপের পাতায় {{সাহায্য করুন}} লিখুন এবং নিচে আপনার প্রশ্নটি লিখুন। একজন সাহায্যকারী কিছুক্ষণের মধ্যে আপনার প্রশ্নের উত্তর দেবেন।

উইকিপিডিয়া সম্মিলন[সম্পাদনা]

সুপ্রিয় Mouryan, আমি দেখলাম কলকাতার উইকিপিডিয়ানরা একটি নতুন সম্মিলন (মিটাপ) আয়োজন করতে চলেছে। সেই অনুযায়ী আপনি একটি সম্মিলনের পাতাও বানিয়েছেন। কিন্তু আমার ঠিক বোধগম্য হল না যে, মূলত যাকে নিয়ে এতে আলোচনা হবে মানে বাংলা উইকি, সেই বাংলা উইকিপিডিয়াতে কেন পাতাটি তৈরি করা না? ইতিপূর্বে ব্যাপারটি বোধিসত্ত্বদা, জয়ন্তদাকে বলায় মাঝখানে ৩টি সম্মিলনের পাতা (১৪, ১৫, ১৬) বাংলা উইকিতে তৈরি করা হয়েছিল। আমি চেষ্টা করছি সম্মিলনের পাতাগুলি ২ জায়গায় না বানিয়ে শুধু বাংলা উইকিতে বানানোর জন্য। সেই অনুযায়ী বাংলাদেশের সম্মিলনের পাতাগুলিও বাংলা উইকিতে করা হচ্ছে। পরে তাঁর লিঙ্ক প্রয়োজনে ইংরেজি উইকির টেমপ্লেটে লাগিয়ে দেয়া হচ্ছে। আমি আশা করব, আপনি সম্মিলনের পাতাটি বাংলা উইকিতে তৈরি করবেন। আর আরেকটি জিনিস, হিসেব অনুযায়ী এটি কলকাতার ১৭ নং সম্মিলন হবে, ১৬ নয়। --আফতাব (আলাপ) ১২:২৫, ৩০ জুন ২০১৬ (ইউটিসি)[উত্তর দিন]

অভিনন্দন মৌর্য, পশ্চিমবঙ্গের এতজন উইকিপিডিয়ানকে একজায়গায় করে এতসুন্দর একটি মিট তথা টিটিটি'র আয়োজন করা ও তাকে সফল করে তোলার জন্য। আর স্বীকার করতে বাধা নেই, ইথারপ্যাডে আমার নামের পাশে 'নূতন ব্যবহারকারী' অভিধাটিও বেশ চমৎকৃত করল। মনে পড়ে গেল কবীর সুমনের একটি গান, "কতটা পথ হাঁটলে তবে পথিক হওয়া যায় !" বুঝলাম, "কমতে থাকা চুলের ফাঁকে" এখনও তবে কমবয়সের সংস্কৃতিই উঁকি মারছে। অবশ্যই আড়াই বছরের বেশি সময় ধরে একজন সক্রিয় ব্যবহারকারীর পক্ষে বিষয়টি বেশ শ্লাঘার।

যাকগে, একটু ঠাট্টা করলাম। অন্যভাবে নিও না। সবার মিলিত প্রচেষ্টায় একসাথে বাংলা ভাষায় 'সকলের জন্য উন্মুক্ত জ্ঞানের' চর্চা এগিয়ে চলুক নিরন্তর। -- অরিন্দম মৈত্র (আলাপ) ০২:৫৭, ৯ জানুয়ারি ২০১৭ (ইউটিসি)[উত্তর দিন]

৮ তারিখ; সময়টা খুব সম্ভবত সন্ধ্যা ৬ বা ৭ টা॥ ঐ ক্ষণের একটি বাক্যালাপ আপনাকে মনে করার চেষ্টা করতে কামনা করছি। না হয় আমিই নিম্নে ব্যপারটি পেশ করার প্রয়াশ করি:
আপনাকে এক-দুইজন ব্যবহারকারী বলে ওঠেন "আর দাদা আপনি? আপনি বোধ হয় নতুন ব্যবহারকারী, না? দেখেছো! এই জন্য আমাদের নিয়মিত সম্মিলন খুব দরকার। দাদা, আপনার পরিচয়টা যদি একবার দিতেন..." তৎক্ষণাত আরেকজন অভিজ্ঞ ব্যবহারকারী (যিনি সম্ভবত বাংলা উইকিপিডিয়ায় একজন প্রশাসক) সহ আমি বলে উঠি "আপনি কি বলছেন? উনি কত্তোদিন ধরে অবদান রেখে আসছেন আপনি জানেন?" তারপর দাদা আমার এও মনে পড়ে যে অভিজ্ঞ সেই ব্যবহারকারী ওনাকে ব্যাঙ্গার্থে বলেনও যে "আপনি কি কখনও অরিন্দম দা কে নক্ করে দেখার প্রয়োজন মনে করেছিলেন? তাহলে!! আপনি জানবেন কি করে"
দাদা আপনি ক্ষুব্ধ হয়েছেন কি না সেটা আমি সাধারণভাবেই বলতে পারায় অযোগ্য (আমি যে মানুষের মন পড়তে পারিনা)। স্রেফ এটুকুই বলতে পারি যে; আপনিও অনলাইন সম্পাদনা ব্যাকগ্রাউন্ডের লোক আমিও দাদা অনলাইন সম্পাদনা ব্যাকগ্রাউন্ডেরই। আপনার মত জ্যেষ্ঠ অভিজ্ঞ একজন এডিটারকে মৌর্য্য বিশ্বাস কেনো বাংলা সম্প্রদায়ের অধিকাংশই যাঁরা ক্ষুদ্রতম অনলাইনে কাজও কোনোদিন করেছেন তাঁরাও চিনবেন। এথারপ্যাডে আমি-ই মূলত দু'দিন ধরে নোটসগুলি নিতে থাকি। ল্যাপ্টপে আমার আঙুলগুলো নিরন্তর চলতেই থাকে। অতি যত্ন সহকারেই নোটসগুলি নিই তবু কী করে জানিনা দাদা এরম ভুলটা হয়ে গেলো। কী করে জানিনা অজ্ঞাত রূপে আমি ঐ দুই অর্থহীন শব্দগুলি লিখে ফেলি। কাজের চাপেই বোধ হয়। এথারপ্যাডে তাড়াতাড়ি-তাড়াতাড়ি করে লোকজনের বলে যাওয়া একাধিক কথা নোট ডাউন করার প্রভাবেই বোধ হয়।

আমি লক্ষ্য করে দেখি যে দার্জিলিং জেলার রেল স্টেশন বিষয়শ্রেণীটিতে কেবল মাত্র শিলিগুড়ি টাউন রেল স্টেশন ছাড়া আর কোনো নিবন্ধই উপস্থিত ছিল না; তথা এও খেয়াল করে দেখি যে ঐ নিবন্ধটিকে অন্য বিষয়শ্রেণীতেও ফেলা যেতে পারে। এই কারণেই আমার মনে হয় যে যতক্ষণ না অনুরূপ ধরণের নিবন্ধ সৃষ্টি করা হচ্ছে; বাংলা উইকিপিডিয়ায় ফাঁকা বিষয়শ্রেণী পৃষ্ঠার যুক্তি কোথায়! হ্যাঁ, একদিন যখন দেখবো যে দার্জিলিং জেলার রেল স্টেশন নিয়ে বাংলা উইকিতে ভালোই লেখা হচ্ছে তখন অবশ্যই চাইবো যে ঐ নামে একটি বিষয়শ্রেণী থাকুক কারণ তখন এমনটি নিঃসন্ধেহে প্রয়োজনীয়।

I’m Erick, the coordinator of WAM 2017. Thanks for your effort and help at m:Wikipedia Asian Month 2017! Here are some more information about organizational matter of the event at a national level.

You are receiving this message because you have signed up as a organizer or in the list.

Timeline

The event has started and will end in the November 30th 23:59 (UTC). However, we are late for some matter. So we need your help:

Invite previous participants and your community members to join. We have a template you can use.
Translate Central Notice for your community (more instruction below) as well as sending a notice in village pump. Go public!
Become the jury member in a campaign on Fountain which is an amazing tool for you to supervise participants’ articles. If you don’t have the campaign set up, please contact us! And put a link to your community’s campaign page for participants’ navigation.
Organize a off-site editathon event. A coffee bar, internet and laptops. Though it’s optional. If you want to do that, please contact me.

In the following days, you should answer the questions from your community and supervise the submissions. Hope you have fun!

Prepare Central Notice

Central Notice shows a banner on the top of pages in your wiki project along the event timeframe. We will use this to engage with audience. Steps:

Translate, change logo and link to event page. Find your project's Central Notice here. For example, we can change the banner for Chinese Wikipedia here.
When you mark the 4 items (translation) as done. I'll enable the central notice in your language for this month.

Here are some number I would like to share with you: Total submitted: 7429 articles; 694 users

Here are what will come after the end of WAM

Make sure you judge all articles before December 12th, and participants who can improve their contribution (not submit) before December 10th.
Once you finish the judging, please update this page after December 12th
There will be three round of address collection scheduled: December 15th, December 20th, and December 25th.
Please report the local Wikipedia Asian Ambassador (who has most accepted articles) on this page, if the 2nd participants have more than 30 accepted articles, you will have two ambassadors.
There will be a progress page for the postcards.

Here are some recent updates and clarification of rules for you, and as always, let me know if you have any idea, thought or question.
- Additional souvenirs (e.g. postcard) will be sent to Ambassadors and active organizers.
- A participant's article count is combined on all language Wikipedias they have contributed to
- Only Wikipedia Asian Month on Wikipedia or Wikivoyage projects count (no WikiQuote, etc.)
- The global top 3 article count will only be eligible on Wikipedias where the WAM article requirement is at least 3,000 bytes and 300 words.
- If your community accepts an extension for articles, you should set up a page and allow participants to submit their contributions there.
- In case of redirection not allowed submitting in Fountain tool, a workaround is to delete it, copy and submit again. Or a submission page can be used too.
- Please make sure enforce the rules, such as proper references, notability, and length.
- International organizers will double check the top 3 users' accepted articles, so if your articles are not fulfilling the rules, they might be disqualified. We don't want it happened so please don't let us make such a decision.

Congratulations! The Wikipedia Asian Month has ended successfully and you've done amazing work of organizing. What we've got and what's next?

Tool problem: If you faced problem submitting articles via judging tool, use this meta page to do so. Please spread this message with local participants.
Here are what will come after the end of WAM

Make sure you judge all articles before December 7th, and participants who can improve their contribution (not submit) before December 10th.
Participates still can submit their contribution of November before December 5th at this page. Please let your local wiki participates know. Once you finish the judging, please update this page after December 7th
There will be three round of address collection scheduled: December 15th, December 20th, and December 25th.
Please report the local Wikipedia Asian Ambassador (who has most accepted articles) on this page, if the 2nd participants have more than 30 accepted articles, you will have two ambassadors.
There will be a progress page for the postcards.

Invitation to Organize Wiki Loves Love 2019[সম্পাদনা]

Wiki Loves Love (WLL) is an International photography competition of Wikimedia Commons to subject love testimonials happening in the month of February 2019.

The primary goal of the competition is to document love testimonials through human cultural diversity such as monuments, ceremonies, snapshot of tender gesture, and miscellaneous objects used as symbol of love; to illustrate articles in the worldwide free encyclopedia Wikipedia, and other Wikimedia Foundation (WMF) projects. February is around the corner and Wiki Loves Love team invites you to organize and promote WLL19 in your country and join hands with us to celebrate love and document it on Wikimedia Commons. The theme of 2019 is Festivals, ceremonies and celebrations of love.

To organize Wiki Loves Love in your region, sign up at WLL Organizers page. You can also simply support and spread love by helping us translate the commons page in your local language which is open for translation.

The contest starts runs from 1-28 February 2019. Independent from if there is a local contest organised in your country, you can help by making the photo contest Wiki Loves Love more accessible and available to more people in the world by translating the upload wizard, templates and pages to your local language. Following community feedback, we noted some community members wanted the process of article list generation to be improved. In this iteration, there will be at least two lists of articles

Hope you are all doing well! Now it's a great time to sign up for the 2019 Wikipedia Asian Month, which will take place in November this year (29 days left!). Here are some updates and improvements we will make for upcoming WAM. If you have any suggestions or thoughts, feel free to discuss on the meta talk page.

use Fountain tool (you can find the usage guidance easily on meta page), or else you and your participants’ will not be able to receive the prize from WAM team.
Add your language projects and organizer list to the meta page before October 29th, 2020.

রমি রেইন নিবন্ধটি উইকিপিডিয়ার নীতিমালা ও নির্দেশাবলী অনুসারে উইকিপিডিয়ায় স্থান পাওয়ার জন্য উপযুক্ত কিনা বা অপসারণ নীতিমালা অনুসারে অপসারণের যোগ্য কি-না এই বিষয়ে মতামতের জন্য একটি আলোচনার সূত্রপাত করা হয়েছে।

একটি ঐক্যমত্যে না পৌঁছানো পর্যন্ত নিবন্ধটি সম্পর্কে উইকিপিডিয়া:নিবন্ধ অপসারণের প্রস্তাবনা/রমি রেইন (২য় মনোনয়ন) পাতায় আলোচনা করা হবে, এবং যে কাউকে আলোচনায় অংশগ্রহণে স্বাগতম। মনোনয়ন অপসারণ প্রস্তাবনার নীতি ও নির্দেশিকা ব্যাখ্যা করবে। আলোচনায় উচ্চমানের প্রমাণ এবং আমাদের নীতি ও নির্দেশাবলীর উপর গুরুত্ব দেওয়া হবে।

আশা করি করোনাভাইরাসের বৈশ্বিক মহামারী পরিস্থিতিতে ভাল আছেন। আগামীকাল থেকে ভারতীয় উইকিসংকলন মুদ্রণ সংশোধন প্রতিযোগিতা শুরু হচ্ছে। আপনাকে আমি এই প্রতিযোগিতায় অংশগ্রহণ করতে আন্তরিক অনুরোধ করি ।এই প্রতিযোগিতায় অভিজ্ঞ,অনভিজ্ঞ ও নতুন ব্যবহারকারী সকলের জন্যই মুক্ত।

উইকিসংকলন – একটি উন্মুক্ত অনলাইন পাঠাগার –যা উইকিমিডিয়া ফাউন্ডেশনের একটি প্রকল্প যা উন্মুক্ত লেখ্য উপাদান তৈরি করার জন্য এক লাইব্রেরি যেখানে উৎসের লেখা মূল নথিপত্র , দলিল, দস্তাবেজ, এমনকি মুল লেখার বাংলা অনুবাদও থাকে। যেখানে উইকিপিডিয়া একটি বিশ্বকোষ, সেখানে উইকিসংকলন হল একটি লাইব্রেরি বা পাঠাগার বা গ্রন্থাগার। উইকিপিডিয়াতে কোনো একটি বই সম্পর্কে নিবন্ধ থাকতে পারে, সেখানে উইকিসংকলনে সেই বইটির সম্পূর্ণ লেখাটি রাখা হয়।

ভারতীয় উইকিসংকলন সম্প্রদায়ের অন্য ভাষাগুলির থেকে বাংলা ভাষায় অবদানকারির সংখ্যা তুলনামূলক ভাবে অত্যধিক কম। অথচ বাংলা সাহিত্যের রত্ন ভাণ্ডারের কিছু শতাংশ মাত্র প্রকাশ করা গেছে। তাই আমাদের আরও স্বেচ্ছাসেবক দরকার কাজ করার জন্য। আশা করি আপনি এই প্রতিযোগিতায় অংশগ্রহণ করবেন ও উইকিসংকলনকে সমৃদ্ধ করবেন। বিস্তারিত প্রকল্প পাতায় দেখুন।

COVID-19-এর দ্বিতীয় তরঙ্গ সারা দেশে পরিবর্তিত পরিস্থিতির কারণে আমরা সকলেই খুব কঠিন সময়ে মধ্যে দিয়ে চলেছি। তিক্ত এবং কঠোর সত্য যে আমরা অনেকেই ইতিমধ্যে আমাদের প্রিয়জন, ঘনিষ্ঠ বন্ধু, আত্মীয়স্বজন, প্রতিবেশীদের হারিয়ে ফেলেছি। আমাদের মধ্যে কেউ কেউ চাকরিহীন, ব্যবসায় ক্ষয়ক্ষতি, হাসপাতালে ভর্তির বিশাল ব্যয় ইত্যাদির কারণে অর্থনৈতিক সমস্যার মুখোমুখি হয়েছেন অথবা হচ্ছেন।

এই সঙ্কটের মাঝে ভারতে বসবাসকারী উইকিমিডিয়া স্বেচ্ছাসেবকদের সহযোগীতা জন্য একটি সমর্থন কর্মসূচি শুরু করা হয়েছে। এই প্রোগ্রামটি নিম্নলিখিত কর্ম্ম সমর্থন করবে -

COVID-19 সুরক্ষা কিট প্রেরণ
বিশেষজ্ঞদের পরামর্শদান

এই সমর্থনটি সেন্টার ফর ইন্টারনেট অ্যাণ্ড সোসাইটি অ্যাসেস টু নলেজ (CIS-A2K) পক্ষে থেকে প্রদান করা হবে। আজ অথবা আগামীকাল থেকে এই টিকাকরণের ব্যয় সরূপ অর্থ প্রদান করা হবে। COVID-19 সুরক্ষা কিট প্রদান বিভিন্ন যৌক্তিক কারণসমূহ উপর নির্ভর করে, তাই এই প্রেরণ পদ্ধতি এক সপ্তাহ বা তার বেশি সময়ের মধ্যে আরও সুসংহত হবে। দলটি প্রথমে সম্প্রদায়ের যাদের এই সাহায্য সব থেকে প্রথমে প্রয়োজন তাদের সমর্থন করার চেষ্টা করবে।

[Wikimedia Foundation elections 2021] Candidates meet with South Asia + ESEAP communities[সম্পাদনা]

As you may already know, the 2021 Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees elections are from 4 August 2021 to 17 August 2021. Members of the Wikimedia community have the opportunity to elect four candidates to a three-year term. After a three-week-long Call for Candidates, there are 20 candidates for the 2021 election.

An event for community members to know and interact with the candidates is being organized. During the event, the candidates will briefly introduce themselves and then answer questions from community members. The event details are as follows:

Date: 31 July 2021 (Saturday)
Timings: check in your local time

Bangladesh: 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm
India & Sri Lanka: 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm
Nepal: 4:15 pm to 6:45 pm
Pakistan & Maldives: 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm

সম্প্রদায়গুলোর প্রায় ৭০,০০০ সদস্যকে ভোট দিতে বলা হয়েছে এবং এর মধ্যে আপনিও রয়েছেন! ভোট দান ৩১ আগস্ট ২৩:৫৯ ইউটিসি পর্যন্ত চলবে তাই বাংলা উইকিপিডিয়া এর সিকিউরপোল-এ যান ও আপনার ভোটাধিকার প্রয়োগ করুন।

Here are the basic guidance and regulations for organizers. Please remember to:

use Fountain tool (you can find the usage guidance easily on meta page), or else you and your participants' will not be able to receive the prize from Wikipedia Asian Month team.
Add your language projects and organizer list to the meta page before October 29th, 2021.
Inform your community members Wikipedia Asian Month 2021 is coming soon!!!
If you want Wikipedia Asian Month team to share your event information on Facebook / Twitter, or you want to share your Wikipedia Asian Month experience / achievements on our blog, feel free to send an email to info@asianmonth.wiki or PM us via Facebook.

If you want to hold a thematic event that is related to Wikipedia Asian Month, a.k.a. Wikipedia Asian Month sub-contest. The process is the same as the language one.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year we hope all the Edit-a-thons are online not physical ones.
The international postal systems are not stable enough at the moment, Wikipedia Asian Month team have decided to send all the qualified participants/ organizers extra digital postcards/ certifications. (You will still get the paper ones!)
Our team has created a meta page so that everyone tracking the progress and the delivery status.

We are really glad to inform you that WikiConference India 2023 has been successfully funded and it will take place from 3 to 5 March 2023. The theme of the conference will be Strengthening the Bonds.

WikiConference India 2023: Open Community Call and Extension of program and scholarship submissions deadline[সম্পাদনা]

Dear Wikimedian,

Thank you for supporting Wiki Conference India 2023. We are humbled by the number of applications we have received and hope to learn more about the work that you all have been doing to take the movement forward. In order to offer flexibility, we have recently extended our deadline for the Program and Scholarships submission- you can find all the details on our Meta Page.

COT is working hard to ensure we bring together a conference that is truly meaningful and impactful for our movement and one that brings us all together. With an intent to be inclusive and transparent in our process, we are committed to organizing community sessions at regular intervals for sharing updates and to offer an opportunity to the community for engagement and review. Following the same, we are hosting the first Open Community Call on the 3rd of December, 2022. We wish to use this space to discuss the progress and answer any questions, concerns or clarifications, about the conference and the Program/Scholarships.

বাংলা উইকিপিডিয়াতে সনাতন বা হিন্দুধর্ম বিষয়ক নিবন্ধসমূহের মানোন্নয়ন করার উদ্দেশ্যে শারদীয় দুর্গাপূজা উপলক্ষ্যে ১ অক্টোবর থেকে ৩১ অক্টোবর পর্যন্ত প্রথমবারের মতো শরৎকালীন অনলাইন এডিটাথনের আয়োজন করা হয়েছে। এর প্রধান উদ্দেশ্য হিন্দুধর্ম সম্পর্কিত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ নিবন্ধসমূহ তৈরি ও মানোন্নয়ন এবং একই সাথে ইংরেজি নিবন্ধ থেকে নিবন্ধ অনুবাদ ও ইতোমধ্যে অনূদিত নিবন্ধের যান্ত্রিকতা দূর করার মাধ্যমে বাংলা উইকিপিডিয়া সমৃদ্ধ করা।
