ইসলাম ইসলামী প্রজাতন্ত্রী পাকিস্তান এর বৃহত্তম এবং রাষ্ট্র ধর্ম। পাকিস্তানের মোট জনসংখ্যা প্রায় ২২ কোটি। [১] এই জনসংখ্যার সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠ অংশ(৯৫-৯৭%) মুসলিম; এছাড়াও এখানে খ্রিষ্টান, হিন্দু এবং অন্যান্য ধর্মাবলম্বী মানুষ বসবাস করে যাদের অনুপাত শতকরা ৩-৫%।[২] মুসলিমদের মধ্যে অধিকাংশই সুন্নি মুসলমান এবং ৫-২০% শিয়া মুসলিম।[২][৩][৪][৫] দেশটির মুসলিম জনসংখ্যার মধ্যে প্রায় ২.২% আহমাদিয়া মতবাদের অনুসারী।[৬] ইরানের পরে পাকিস্তানে দ্বিতীয় সর্বাধিক শিয়া মুসলিম বসবাস করে, এখানে সর্বনিম্ন ১৬.৫ মিলিয়ন থেকে সর্বোচ্চ ৩০ মিলিয়ন শিয়া মুসলিমের বসবাস আবাস।[৭]
