Scientific POV

This article is probably ok in terms of encyclopedic inclusion, since it is a widespread phenomenon. But I also think that from a skeptical scientific POV (i.e., the majority view of the scientific community as published in reputable journals), the claims made in this article will not hold up to scrutiny. So no matter how polished the writing looks (taken from sources on the internet), the scientific POV re: Past life regression needs to be mentioned side by side. This phenomenon may or may not be a hoax, but still it is a widespread phenomenon as you mentioned. We should, as you suggested, mention both POVs. In western world, the well known cases include the one of en:Bridey Murphy (later found to be a hoax) and also some other ones. It seems like there are many cases in India, so there may be more info on this from Indian media/academia. Prabir Ghosh's books have devoted a lot of space to debunk many such claims. Actually, I don't have the Prabir Ghosh books, although I have seen them in local bookstores. I agree with Arnab. In my point of view these are just exaggeraated cases of deja vu phenomenon strengthened by autosuggestion or social encouragement. Reincarnation is something with a deep philosophical implication like recycling of matter or energy.. But জাতিস্মর is not something with either scientific or philosophical depth.
